Rentals must be posted back on the last day of the rental to arrive by the next working day. Take photos for proof of condition before sending. Use a tracked, insured postal service, and keep your receipt. Include a return address, package items safely, and ensure the recipient’s address is correct. Check with your lender if your rental ends on a Sunday or Bank Holiday.
When should I send my rental back?
All rentals should be posted back on the last day of the rental to ensure they arrive by the next working day.
Do I need to provide proof of condition?
Yes. Before posting your rental, take photos showing proof of condition. You can read more about this in our FAQ: “Proof of Condition – Renter”.
Which postal service should I use?
You can choose any postal or delivery service. We recommend:
Next-day guaranteed delivery
Fully tracked service
Insurance cover equivalent to the RRP of the item
If the item is returned without correct insurance cover, you will be liable for any issues that happen during transit up to the value of the item’s RRP. Keep your tracking and receipt for proof of postage.
How do I post safely?
Include a return address on all parcels. If undeliverable, it will be returned to you. Without a return address, the item may be considered lost.
Send all items insured. You are responsible for compensation if the item is lost or damaged during postage.
Ensure the renter’s address is correct and legible. Illegible addresses may result in returns or refunds.
Package items appropriately, especially delicate items, to prevent damage in transit.
How do Sundays and Bank Holidays affect postage?
Postal services may be slower on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
If your rental ends on these days, check with your lender before sending it.
Use Next Day Delivery to ensure swift return. If the lender is unavailable, consider extending the rental by a day.
What if I lose my proof of postage?
If you cannot provide proof that your item has been posted, By Rotation will assume the item has not been returned. You will be responsible for replacing or compensating the lender.
