Always record mandatory video evidence of your rental garment upon receipt and before return. Capture the full item and any pre-existing damage with time-stamped photos. Notify the lender immediately if the item arrives damaged or is accidentally damaged during rental. Videos outside these windows or while wearing the item will not be accepted in disputes. Protect your rental by documenting everything properly.
We always recommend having proof of the condition of your rental.
This is good to have in case anything happens during the rental and a dispute arises. Without Proof of condition, By Rotation will not be able to assist in a dispute regarding damage.
What evidence do I need to take?
As a renter, you are required to record video evidence at two keys stages of the rental period:
- Immediately upon receiving your rental
- Immediately before returning the item
These videos must clearly show the full length of the garment, along with close-up footage capturing the overall condition in detail.
In addition to video evidence, you may wish to take time-stamped photos of:
- Any pre-existing damage (if applicable)
- The general condition.
If your item arrives in a different condition than you expected, you must raise this with the Lender immediately.
When you receive the rental:
- Record a clear continuous video on the same day the item was delivered
- Carefully inspect the item and ensure the video highlights any wear, marks or defects
- If the item arrives in a condition that differs from what was expected, you must notify the Lender immediately and provide supporting documents
Before you return the rental:
- Record a time-stamped video on the day of return, again showing the full garment and its condition in detail.
- If any damage has occurred during your rental, you must inform the Lender as soon as the damage happens, not just at the point of return,
Important requirements for Video Evidence:
- Video evidence is mandatory and must be captured within the correct time frames (upon receipt and before return).
- Any photos or videos taken outside of these time windows will not be accepted.
- Evidence recorded while the item is being worn will be rejected by the disputes team.
Failure to provide compliant, time-appropriate video evidence may result in your claim being declined.
